Bedol: Luck’s Chosen Man

Bedol looking ratty...but don't be fooled

I find it rather insulting that Ruffa, Gretchen and Wendy (PBB2) are getting more attention than Bedol. It’s been almost 2 months since the Midterm Elections and yet we see no end to the Koko vs. Migz issue or to the “Where, oh where are the official municipal COCs of Maguindanao?” melodrama. Instead of the people cursing Bedol for being Garci’s obvious protégé and ruining the supposed credibility of Comelec (as if they still have any), Pinoys, I think, are more into showbiz chika, the release of iPhone, the Transformers or the new Harry Potter movie and it’s 7th book.

After sending out an awful lot of armed men to finally bring Bedol in for questions, the idiot commissioners of Comelec just let him go, scot-free. With all the dire warnings Abalos have given before, Comelec just reprimanded Bedol by ordering him to submit a written report on the lost COCs and all the other election-related stuff the commissioners think he is keeping from us. And I thought Bedol would surely rot in jail this time.

Bedol is so damn cocky because he’s got some really big and mighty people protecting him. If his backers let him go to prison, he might speak out and condemn them. Of course, his masters wouldn’t want that shit happening. Unless the opposition would do something (as they should) to stop all these non-sense, expect the Congress to house aswangs, malignos and diablos that’ll waste our taxes and our votes.

Do we care about these things? Or have we gone tired of protesting? As a student and a blogger, the only thing I could do for now is to blog and talk about these stuff with the hopes of it reaching other people. These sorts of issues are not to be taken lightly: for goodness sake, these will make or break our country! If we want to stay here and be happy, then by all means, stop ignoring them. This doesn’t concern a few, but all of us.

But what’s more disappointing is the fact that the people who are meant to oppose the administration isn’t doing anything. I would have liked to say “ isn’t doing enough” but since the GO senatoriables have been proclaimed, they’ve shut their mouths and stopped criticizing PGMA altogether. If this is true, Trillanes have all the reason in the world to call his team mates traitors. If Koko wasn’t in a jam with Migz, would Leila de Lima come to the rescue of the Maguindanao COCs?

In all of this, Bedol remains to be freakishly lucky, an untouchable. I wouldn’t want a man like him to roam around the streets of Manila. Mahirap na, he might make me vanish like the COCs.
