FG Mike Arroyo is the MYSTERY MAN

Why am I not surprised about the FG’s involvement in this one? And why am I not surprised that most of the people called upon by the Blue Ribbon Committee aren’t even appearing in court? PGMA’s EO 464 shouldn’t even be used as an excuse by these guys to back out on the inquiries. EO 464 isn’t even legal! Just imagine it, if the FG’s involvement in this case is verified, then the ZTE broadband scam would have been supported by PGMA herself! Because frankly, the FG isn’t capable of doing all this elaborate scam; he needs his beloved wife for help and support.

Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza, Trade Secretary Peter Favila and Romulo Neri, chairman of the Commission on Higher Education were the 3 cabinet members to be subpoenaed, along with the FG on Thursday. But seeing as the FG has already fled the country (his lawyers says his trip to Hong Kong has long been planned) and Ben Abalos is still thinking of attending the summons, how can the committee proceed without the key persons involved in this case? As I’ve said in an earlier post, our leaders lack delicadeza that’s why the government stinks with corruption and outright lies.

But wait, you know what, let’s not discuss what the Blue Ribbon has done yesterday on this case, not even about the FG’s supposed long planned trip to HK Monday night . Let’s talk about the dynamic husband and wife tandem of the Arroyos and their techniques to squander the people’s taxes.

1. They work hand in hand. FG is the muscle and PGMA is the brains.
2. Behind every man is a woman. So behind FG, there is PGMA. Aww, shocks, how sweet. They support each other through thick and thin.
3. Both are very social. See the vast network of cronies they have? Yes, from Abalos to Gonzales to even the military and police forces. That’s a large connection to work out their wishes.

Oh well. We’ll just have to see what Thursday holds for us all. I hope the Senate (Senator Cayetano especially) will do it’s job. Honestly, I think that Cayetano is doing a good job, but a little more push and brawn won’t hurt.

  • not even the mafia can match the knack of fg and pgma for making connections work. i suggest that they should patent their own broadband network.

  • Abangan…ang susunod na kabanata!

Alam ko na ‘ata ang kalalabasan neto. Parang sine–’di ko na lang sasabihin yung spoiler ng serye *hehehe*

pwedeng magsulat si PGMA and FG sa MAALA-ALA MO KAYA after they get stoned from the palace. geez…mahiya naman…kahit katiting…

  • In all seriousness though, from the bits that I’ve followed on the satellite newscasts, these are what I’ve managed to conclude:

    - DeVenecia thought that his bid for the nationwide broadband system was “in the bag”. May mga kilala naman siya sa matataas na posisyon sa gubyerno. Kung baga, akala siguro niya dahil meron siyang nakuhang mga government grants sa ibang mga business ventures niya, in the clear na siya. I think he got blindsided when he got wind of the competition putting the squeeze on the government to give preference to ZTE’s bid. DeVenecia was willing to take a few people down with him as his business prospects were sinking in deep doodoo.

    - The national government seemed to have been accepting ZTE’s bid only because the Chinese government was willing to financially help with the project so long as the Phil gov’t picks ZTE. Grabe sa strong arm tactics, ‘no?

    Questions:
Was there a third party, without any vested interest, available to distribute the requests for proposals and also conduct an independent cost estimate?

Was there any opportunity for smaller businesses to perhaps band together and come up with an equally competitive bid? I just find it hard to believe that we again had to outsource technological architecture when we’ve got so many talented network technicians hailing from The Philippines. I know it may be a bit lofty to think that competing small businesses could put together a conglomerate with the sole objective of putting together a national broadband network–but can’t a guy dream? :-)

What’s up with bringing up DeVenecia’s pot habit from way back when? Everyone’s got skeletons in their closet–so it’s pot calling kettle black-time again. One can’t help but experiment with that kind of stuff in college, especially in the US. This aspect of his life doesn’t have any bearing on the ZTE deal. Ang labo talaga sa argument kung minsan ang mga napapasali sa kontrobersyang ‘to. I can understand if he was addicted to meth or cocaine–that’s seriously dangerous stuff, but as a pothead, your only enemy is what’s in your fridge and your failing memory–okay, perhaps a little bit of paranoia as well when you’re coming off the buzz, but that’s pretty much it. Oh, and occasional laziness, yeah.

MANDARAMBONGGGGG…

come 2010, i really hope the wannabe presidents of this (almost) forsaken country would be truly, unquestionably honest and good men, whose work and ideals will serve the people’s and the country’s needs. i also hope that by that time, no one, who is deemed unqualified and shady, would even dare approach the COMELEC to submit their candidacy for whatever public offices they ‘think’ they can handle.
we have to face it, not even ‘good intentions’ are enough to fuel a thorough candicacy. but of course, it should be a prerequisite. i hope that the KAPATIRAN candidates would present some of their guys again this coming elections. we need people like them, deserving and honest, rather than smart-ass politicians, so-called fit for their posts just because their college degrees say so.
let’s stop all this non-sense. let us not vote (again) for another PGMA or ERAP who, frankly, needed their morals checked rather than their popularity ratings in SWS.
kaya guys, unless the lower house initiates another impeachment, magtitiis pa tayo kay tito glo.

    Volume addict:
i think there were other companies which proposed a broadband deal but AHI was the more popular one because of JDV3.

Guys, thanks for visiting and commenting! =)
