“It’s God’s will. It’s probably my destiny.”
It was just minutes after Davao City Rep. Prospero Nograles assumed the Speakership when I noticed he got his thank you speech all mixed up. He looked dignified, as all politicians are, calm and reserved. He was keeping his emotions in check, lest the public prey on them endlessly as we did on JDV’s excessive 59-minute rhetoric on the floor before nominating Nograles himself for the position.
I think Nograles probably meant ‘PGMA’ instead of ‘God’.
It’s PGMA’s will. It’s my turn now.
Funny really, how JDV’s privilege speech turned out like a loser’s confession and disappointing how the crowd gathered in the Senate’s Session Hall gave a standing ovation to JDV. Did I miss something? I was wondering why the people got wild and excited after the older De Venecia hurled insults and accusations one after another to the President and the First Family. Was that customary on the part of the audience to clap their hands after a dragging and hypocritical oratory?
I kept track of the ‘reform’ in the Speakership. I listened and tried hard to digest all that they have to say about everything, including the indecency of including and implying that the change in the Speakership was politically motivated by that ominous ZTE Scandal. And sure enough, I was right; JDV did tell on the Arroyos and their corruption, fraud and even their involvement in the extrajudicial killings. I was right that the change in the Senate leadership was but a start of a long and nasty word war and quite possibly a revolt of some sort.
I, for one, do not rejoice over JDV’s sudden change of heart. Fact is, he is only telling us these hidden Arroyo anomalies because he needs his vengeance, he wants to give them his vendetta. He’s telling on his former boss because he lost. He’s not doing it for the sake of the country, darn it; he’s doing it for his own sake! If he really wanted to save this country from immoral practices, to which this country has grown tolerant to, he could have exposed all of these way before his position got endangered. Why save all of these juicy information now?
The hell with ‘reform’. JDV was replaced with another Arroyo puppet.
It’s also all about the pot calling the kettle black.
And the spectacle keeps going.
These people are all clowns and clowns do not say a word. Again and again these people are displaying their true colors unfortunately, the Pinoy voters often forgot who they are on election day.
Majority of these so called congressmen belong to the Five Families, whose main purpose is not to represent their constituents but to save and preserve their own big Asses.
this House we call Congress are nothing but one big, connected friends and families of Bonano, Gambino, Colombo and Luchesse.
here is my message to JDV: While the Corleones are hunting you, the guys from Tattaglia family would surely welcome you.
myepinoy:
clowns and entertainers would be appropriate than honorable. if he goes to the opposition, yikes, they’ll even lose more points.
johanns:
the plot thickens. (i hate cliches but this one works well for me haha)
thanks for dropping by!
Speaker De Venecia, at the verge of his ouster, spoke solely of his career being scrumbled by the Malacañang. It is nothing but about him, what a selfish speech! He should instead speak, as speaker should be, what is the impact to the people of his ouster.
It may appear as a drama or an emotional speech, but it is better if he state that he will join the people in their suffering. At least, he would let the people know that he is a human and a stateman.
ren:
yes, i agree. most of our politicians are doing what they can to salvage what is left of their careers. sad. really sad.
thanks for visiting!
