Last Monday’s SONA was breathtaking – it literally kills you with inconsistencies and bull shit.
To listen to PGMA go on and on about how she is concerned for the welfare of the people is, to say the least, rather damning:
(1) She insists that VAT cushions the world food and fuel crisis in the country;
(2) VAT is the fuel for government projects and such to help the poor;
(3) Poverty and unemployment has gone down;
(4) Sending more OFWs to other countries is a wonderful thing;
(5) Microfinance has gone up to help more people;
(6) There is an existent fuel subsidy for people who work in the transport sector;and
(7) The price of sending SMS has gone down to 50 cents.
To start with, VAT does not cushion anything other than the government’s revenue. You pay an extra amount for what, to shoulder government projects to help the poor? What help does this scheme offer the poor, no, us in general when we’re forced to pay more than we could afford? And what Pro-POOR projects was she referring to?
Consequently, when people can’t buy basic commodities due to VAT, more and more people will experience hunger and for that, won’t the poverty line go up? And what about employment rates inside the country? She says that more jobs were created in the country and yet more and more OFWs are still being sent out to work for other countries. The OFWs will not seek work outside the country if there are existing opportunities here.
Then there’s that microfinance thingy that she’s so proud of. Maybe, yes, this strategy has caught on with people but where are the benefits? This scheme is supposed to help set up businesses and lend financial support. If her figures are correct, why is poverty still prevalent? Maybe microfinance is missing its targets.
Transport groups are saying that the subsidy she mentioned is non-existent. Why am I not surprised? Along with the 50 centavos SMS and corruption alleviation in the government, these things are what I call illusions. She’s taking the world crisis as a blessing instead of properly addressing it and finding plausible solutions to truly help us.
Oh yes, and she’s putting her battle against corruption on top of everything else a.k.a. her battle with herself that is.
Someone quick, slap her and wake her up.

Here’s a sobering documentary about the flight of manpower resources from the country and the inability of the government to find alternatives to getting foreign currency other than the main source: OFW remittances.

this year’s SONA was indeed, quite longer than the last one but I think this year’s SONA has a lot of improvements. It had more delusional lies and a whole lot of being inconsistent than that of the last SONA. I think I heard once that she said that the Philippines no longer is a third world country and that we can be elevated into the second world, GET OUT’A HERE! Communism is the theme in the 2nd world country and not poor capitalism. And last thing, the poverty in our country still isn’t being diminished in disagreement to what she had stated. Many Filipinos are still jobless and a lot, suffering. Haysz, if only we could get a better leader.

hi!
i remember that quip: Gloria is not good because she is not a leader. hmmm… the statement was made by someone who found blood relations with erap whose first name was joe and was given four (repeat: four!) top posts in the big pig pen donated by the ortigases or aranetas to the government bounded by santolan and edsa, also known as camp aguinaldo. joe is dead now but aside from another top official of erap, joe handled a big booming business and guess what it was ? multi-billion drug trade. my chinese neighbor in pasig was the among the first ones to be arrested during the gloria regime in that trade. multi-billions! hah! you could go around the world and buy everything you want! except you never had a pandak to support you for dealing in criminal shitty activities. some comment, that is! fuck shit!!!

the latest raid yielded a trillion worth of shabu in the same late mr. joe’s territory. hmmmm… multi-billions, trillion, what wonderful figures. no wonder wny no big ones were arrested by the late mr. joe and counterpart, now senadora phing lacson. the purveyors of the notorious drug business have to maintain at least four senador, senadoras daw at any one time. sino kaya sa kanila? of course, phing the beautiful is one. and the other three? perhaps trillanes, because his election was bought with almost a billion pesos. and now, the trivialest people in the entire universe are talking about small words with their small minds tinkering with small things while we’re going down the drain being sold out to the narc underworld. wow! how we love our country indeed! and how we love ourselves, committing suicide ever so slowly…
